Misión y Visión:
Voces y Movimiento: Latine Performing Arts Festival es el primer festival de artes escénicas en Cincinnati dedicado a mostrar a artistas Latine como sus protagonistas principales. Presentado por Dos-Corazones Productions, este festival inaugural se desarrolla cada fin de semana de septiembre — Mes de la Herencia Hispana — y presenta obras que abarcan teatro, danza, música, talleres para niños y literatura.
Creado por y para la comunidad Latine de Cincinnati, Voces y Movimiento celebra la diversidad, creatividad y riqueza cultural de los artistas Latine profesionales de nuestra ciudad, mientras invita a la comunidad más amplia de Cincinnati a conectar, reflexionar y encontrar puntos en común a través del arte. Con una población hispana en Cincinnati y sus alrededores que ha crecido más del 40% durante la última década, este festival llega en un momento crucial — ofreciendo un escenario donde nuestra comunidad puede verse representada, celebrada y acogida.

Mission and Vision:
Voces y Movimiento: Latine Performing Arts Festival is Cincinnati's first performing arts festival dedicated to showcasing Latine artists as its headliners. Presented by Dos-Corazones Productions, this inaugural festival unfolds each weekend in September — Hispanic Heritage Month — and features works spanning theater, dance, music, kids’ workshops, and literature.
Created by and for Cincinnati's Latine community, Voces y Movimiento celebrates the diversity, creativity, and cultural richness of professional Latine artists in our city, while inviting the broader Cincinnati community to connect, reflect, and find common ground through art. With the Hispanic population in Cincinnati and its surrounding areas growing by more than 40% over the past decade, this festival arrives at a vital moment — offering a stage where our community can see itself represented, celebrated, and embraced.

Cincinnati's newest celebration dedicated to Latine art and culture kicks off at SWELL Art Cafe! Come meet the talented artists who will be performing in this year's festival, connect with sponsors and collaborators, and enjoy an evening of live music and community spirit. Acompáñanos en The Well el 19 de septiembre, de 7 a 8:30pm, para una noche a celebrar nuestra cultura e historias a través de la literatura y la poesía. Presentaremos un nuevo libro de un autor Mexico-americano, seguido de una lectura de poesía original con acompañamiento musical, escrita por artistas que viven en Cincinnati, representando una rica diversidad cultural de diversos países latinoamericanos.

Join us at The Well on September 19th, from 7 to 8:30pm, for an evening celebrating our culture and stories through literature and poetry. We'll present a new book by a Mexican-American author, followed by a reading of original poetry with musical accompaniment, written by artists living in Cincinnati and representing a rich cultural diversity from various Latin American countries.

Descubre el extraordinario mundo de la escritura glífa maya, uno de los sistemas de escritura más sofisticados de la antigua América.
Utilizando un silabario maya, la artista y educadora Rebecca Nava Soto guía a los participantes en la traducción de sus nombres, palabras o frases significativas a la escritura glifa. Luego, inspirados por los antiguos escribas y pintores mayas, transforman sus glifos en obras de arte únicas, aportando una voz contemporánea a un lenguaje ancestral de imágenes, sonidos y significados.
En parte historia. En parte desciframiento. En parte creación artística.

Discover the extraordinary world of Maya glyphic writing—one of the most sophisticated writing systems of the ancient Americas.
Using a Maya syllabary, artist and educator Rebecca Nava Soto guides participants in translating their names, words, or meaningful phrases into glyphic writing. Then, inspired by ancient Maya scribe-painters, participants transform their glyphs into unique works of art—bringing a contemporary voice to an ancestral language of image, sound, and meaning.

El Espacio: Arte Reciclado Con Maribel Cortes Conde

Sabías que en Cincinnati se fabrican los motores de avión así como los motores que se usan en los rockets que impulsan a las naves espaciales? Ven y diviértete en este gran evento donde aprenderás cómo es que los rockets y las naves espaciales funcionan llevando a los astronautas al espacio para estudiar la luna, la planetas y la tierra.
Habrá un pequeño museo de NASA donde verás los rockets a modelo de escala, asi como artefactos firmados por el reconocido astronauta José Hernández! Aprenderás porque es importante reciclar para salvar a nuestro planeta, así como hacer tus propios juguetes con materiales reciclados.
También tendrás oportunidad de crear tu propio STEMit@, un robot o ser intergalactico hecho de materiales reciclados. El mejor STEMit@ será premiado con una tarjeta de regalo!
Outer Space: Recycled Art with Maribel Cortes Conde

Did you know that aircraft engines—as well as the engines that power spacecraft—are manufactured in Cincinnati? Come and have fun at this exciting event, where you’ll learn how rockets and spacecraft work to carry astronauts into space to study the moon, the planets, and Earth.
There will be a mini NASA museum featuring scale models of rockets and artifacts signed by renowned astronaut José Hernández! You’ll learn why recycling is important for saving our planet and discover how to make your own toys using recycled materials. You’ll also have the chance to create your own "STEMit@"—a robot or intergalactic being made from recycled materials.
The best STEMit@ will win a gift card!

Noche de Fiesta: Clausura del Festival VyM Voces y Movimiento Latine Arts Festival
Ven y diviértate con nosotros en SWELL Art Cafe de 6 a 10pm, mientras cerramos con broche de oro el festival VyM Latine Arts Festival. Baila toda la noche al ritmo de música latina, conoce a los artistas cuyas obras dieron vida al festival, y conecta con los patrocinadores y colaboradores que hicieron esto posible. Tendremos rifas. Habrá comida y bebida disponibles para la compra — ¡no te lo puedes perder!

Closing Celebration: VyM Voces y Movimiento Latine Arts Festival
Come have fun with us at SWELL Art Cafe from 6 to 10pm, as we close out the VyM Latine Arts Festival in style. Dance the night away to Latin music, meet the artists whose work brought the festival to life, and connect with the sponsors and collaborators who made it all possible. We'll have raffles. Food and drinks will be available for purchase — you won't want to miss it!
